Car-Sharing Benefits

Car-Sharing is a practical and affordable alternative to car-ownership. You get to enjoy the full benefits of a car without the long-term commitment and cost of owning one.

With Car-Sharing, you have 24/7 accessibility to use and share a fleet of cars with other members in your neighbourhood or workplace, thus lowering your long-term costs and enabling you to save substantial expenses every month.

Car-sharing allows you to enjoy the benefits and convenience of driving a car, without the added hassle of loans, insurance, taxes, and maintenance costs.

Depending on your usage, you can save up to more than $13,000 per year when opting for Car-Sharing instead of car ownership.

Car-Sharing shares many features of car rental but offers you much more flexibility and convenience.

Joining Car Club

  • You should be at least 24 years old.
  • Possess a Class 3/3A drivers’ licence.
  • Have at least two years of driving experience.
Step 1: You can register online by filling up our sign-up form.

Step 2: If your application is in order, you should be getting an In Principal Approval (IPA) email on the same day or the following working day.

A typical IPA email will include:

  • Payment details
  • List of documents required.
  • Car Club’s Terms and Conditions
  • Car Club’s Privacy Policy

Step 3: Proceed to make payment and also to endorse the Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy documents.

We’ll also send you a membership kit (comprising of documents, member’s handbook etc.) by post shortly after your membership is activated.

For Singapore Citizens and PRs

There is a one-time registration fee of $100 and a monthly membership fee of $10.70. There is also a one-time deposit starting from $100 (refundable upon membership termination).

For Foreigners and Work Pass Holders

There is a one-time registration fee of $100 and a monthly membership fee of $10.70. There is also a one-time deposit starting from $200 (refundable upon membership termination).

We’ll first need to validate your application and driving records. It would usually take up to three working days. For some special cases, it might take a little bit longer.

We have different membership plans that fit your needs. Depending on how often you need to access a car, you can refer to our price plans for more details.

If your driver licence is issued outside of Singapore, you would need to check if you need to convert your foreign driving licence to a Singapore driving licence.

According to information extracted from the Singapore Traffic Police website, “A foreigner holding a valid foreign licence may drive in Singapore for a period of not more than 12 months. A Singapore driving licence is required after 12 months. Those on short-term social visit may drive with their foreign licence. For licenses not written in English language, an International Driving Permit or an official translation in English language is required.”

Apart from the conversion of your driver licence, the same eligibility requirements apply:

  • Possess a Class 3/3A drivers’ licence.

Payments & Charges

There is a one-time registration fee of $100 and a monthly membership fee of $10.70. A one-time security deposit (refundable upon membership termination) of $100 is applicable for Singapore citizens/ PRs, and $200 for foreign citizens.

After that, it costs as low as $9 per hour to use a car. Additional km charges apply based on distance covered. Petrol and insurance are inclusive in the rates you pay.

Car Club offers different membership plans. They offer the same Car-Sharing service but different group of cars and the cost varies based on how often you drive.

Booking and Driving

We have a fleet of over 260+ cars across 110+ stations in Singapore. They are conveniently and strategically located at high-traffic areas near HDB estates, MRT Stations and commercial buildings. All our Car-Sharing stations are easily accessible 24/7.

You can book online 24-hours on our website using the ‘Member Login’ or with our mobile application (available for download at Google Play Store).

You can book your car up to 60 days in advance or at least 30 minutes prior to collecting your car. After a successful booking, you can collect your vehicle within 15 minutes.

After a successful reservation, we’ll send you a text message or an email indicating where you can collect the car, the car plate number and the PIN number.

When you are at the Car-Sharing station, unlock the car by placing your key fob on the card reader at the windscreen for 2 – 3 seconds. After that, enter the PIN number to take the car keys out of the keypad in the glove compartment.

Yes. You can extend your current booking online via the member portal or the Car Club mobile application.
You can also use the keypad in the glove compartment. Just press the yellow button at the bottom of the keypad until the display shows “Extend your current booking?”

Extension is not possible after your booking time has ended.  If there is another booking after you, you won’t be able to extend.

We maintain a ratio of 27 to 30 members to a car. This ratio permits successful reservation and availability, with a 90% probability on weekdays and 80% probability on weekends/ Public Holidays.

Petrol is included with every car booking. We will provide you with an ‘Esso Speedpass’ tag to top up petrol at any Esso service station. You just need to position the Speedpass tag at the “Place Speedpass HERE” icon to activate the pump.

No payment is needed after topping up. Please be considerate and make sure there is at least 1/4 tank left for the next user.


If the Speedpass tag is faulty, please refuel the car and pay first. Keep the original receipt and send it to us later. We will reimburse and credit the amount into your account.

The Speedpass system is not available in West Malaysia. If you refuel the car in West Malaysia, you can claim for reimbursement with the original receipt.

For travel to Malaysia, 3 days’ advance written notification and proper approval from Car Club is required. Please login to the member’s portal and submit your application by filling up the form.

Possible problem: The RESERVED parking lot could have been occupied by an unauthorised vehicle when the previous user returned the car. Hence, he or she might have parked the car at another parking lot within the same car park.

Solution: Look out for the OUT-OF-LOT parking sign (A4 size) next to the Car Club’s RESERVED parking spaces. Check the new parking location of the assigned car on the board. The member who last used and returned the car should have indicated the alternate deck and car park lot number.

No, only members with a valid car booking can drive the car. There is no insurance coverage for the non-member and the law is strict on individuals driving without proper insurance coverage.

In the event of a traffic accident, both the member and the non-member (who is driving) will face legal action from the authorities.
